Cinco muertos y toque de queda en Irak tras protestas

Baghdad (Iraq), 01/10/2019.- Iraqi protesters carry a wounded man who was injured during a clashes with Iraqi riot forces during a demonstration at al-Tahrir square, central Baghdad, Iraq, 01 October 2019. According to media reports, dozens of protesters were injured in the clashes that occurred as thousands of Iraqis were protesting over unemployment, the rising cost of living and lack of services in Baghdad. The Iraqi government had deployed a significant amount of military and police forces around the fortified green zone which is the headquarter of the Iraqi government in Baghdad. Cinco muertos y toque de queda en Irak tras protestas

Cuatro manifestantes y un agente de la Policía fallecieron ayer, en el segundo día de protestas en Irak, en una nueva oleada de descontento por la falta de servicios públicos y oportunidades de empleo, así como por la mala gestión de los recursos en este país rico en petróleo, según EFE. 

Las protestas se tornan cada vez más violentas por lo que las autoridades tuvieron que decretar el toque de queda desde las 17:00 horas

En la jornada hubo 50 manifestantes heridos. La mayoría de las víctimas son de la ciudad de Al Naseriya, la capital de la provincia meridional de Di Qar. Se suman al fallecido del martes en Bagdad. Desde el Ministerio de Interor anunciaron el cierre de la “zona verde”, sede de las principales instituciones y de las embajadas extranjeras para evitar daños a la propiedad.
